About the event
Rear Admiral Peter Sparkes is The Chief executive of The UK Hydrographic Office. Born and educated in Liverpool, he has served as a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy from 1990 to 2021.
He commanded HMS Cumberland on counter-piracy deployment off Somalia and was captain of HMS Protector on ice-protecting duties in Antarctica. As a Commodore he then commanded 46 units of The Portsmouth Flotilla ; including aircraft carriers, destroyers and frigates . He has also served as the UK Chief of the Defence Staff’s Liaison Officer in Washington DC.
